What is this? Standard viewing calculators only look at pure geometry—the raw horizontal Field of View (FOV) angle. However, the human brain isn't just a lens. When you sit closer than 1.5 meters to a screen, your eyes must actively rotate inward (convergence) and intensely flex their internal muscles to focus on a near object (accommodation).

This biological feedback instantly warns your brain: "This is a small object right next to my face, not a vast environment." Even if a 24" monitor at 50 cm covers a massive geometric angle, the immersion feels completely fake. This calculator introduces a Proximity Penalization Factor to discount extreme closeness, rendering a score that aligns with actual cinematic scale perception.
